The Resources page strategy has long been considered something we could/should update. The cards are friendly, in a way, but there are a few key ways the current implementation falls down:
Color is not meaningful, so it's unnecessary noise
Icons are used multiple times for different things, watering down their effectiveness. They don't match the overall design aesthetic.
There's one single bucket of resources with no groupings or headings to help people quickly scan available options.
Headings are all caps and difficult to read
